Yia Vang writes:

"Approximately 230 people attended the National LCMS Hmong Youth and Leadership Conference held in Sheboygan, Wisconsin on June 26-29, 2003.  Everyone had a great time.  Many workshops were held for both the youth and adults. 

"I want to thank Jotham Johann, Director of CAME, for his presentations and the financial support for the conference.  I also want to thank Pastor David Paape for an excellent speech on leadership, Dr. Scudieri for the wonderful message on Sunday, and Lutheran High School for housing the conference.

"A new committee was elected to conduct the ministry of the Hmong ministry conference for the next two years.  Plans are on the way for the Family Conference in 2004.  A new Mission Facilitator was also elected to replace me for the next two years.  After eight years of volunteering to serve as Field Counselor and Mission Facilitator on behalf of the Synod and Districts, it’s time for me to step back and let someone else continue on this important ministry.

"When I was selected for this position in 1995, there were three Hmong ministries, now we are doing ministry in twenty-two sites.  There were five leaders, now there are fifteen leaders serving the Hmong ministries in North America.  God has blessed the Hmong ministry, and it has been a great joy to see first hand how God is expanding His kingdom among the Hmong people.  I am looking forward to next year’s conference!"
