New Thrivent Grant support CAME's mission and ministry
MINNEAPOLIS (Oct. 29, 2003) -- The Thrivent Financial for
Lutherans Foundation has approved a $25,000 grant to the Center for Asian
Missions and Evangelism (CAME), Alexandria, Va. The grant supports a
project titled "Preparing Congregational Leaders for Asian Outreach in
the New Millennium." "Thrivent Financial members recognize
the need for the Lutheran Church to reach beyond its traditional ethnic
and cultural boundaries," said Jim Yagow, manager of the Thrivent

Evangelism is an outstanding resource in educating Lutheran Church
Missouri Synod congregations of the need to reach rapidly growing
Asian-American communities with the Gospel and in providing training and
coordination to make this outreach possible." CAME is an
