WHY REACH OUT TO ASIAN AMERICANS?

        -  "...Christ CAME to seek and save the lost..." (Luke 19:10).

      -  The Asian population in North America is growing at an unprecedented rate. Demographics estimates indicate that 40-50 million people of Asian background will live in North America by the year 2050.

      -  Kiplinger's Journal states that for every one Asian American that dies, more than 20 people of Asian background will take his/her place in the United States by way of birth or immigration.

      -  Some sources say that 97% of Asian Americans are unchurched.

Goals of CAME:

  • Educate congregations of the need to reach the rapidly growing Asian American communities with the Good News about Jesus.
  • Support districts and congregatoins in initiating and developing Asian immigrant ministries and congregations.
  • Support districts and congregations in developing outreach to second and third generation Asian Americans
  • Sensitize and educate congregations about the cultures of Asian ethnic groups.
  • Identify, recruit and train leaders of the Asian American communities.
  • Provide the leaders of Asian communities mentoring, support and networking opportunities.
  • Conduct studies of Asian American communities to determing "felt needs".
  • Raise stewardship of Asian American outreach.
